Noel
Those familiar with Noel's work will recognize the broad, bold strokes, the surging energy of color and the carefully crafted anatomy of the figures depicted on his paintings. Cuban-born Noel was raised in the environment of a theatrical family, and at the age of 5 started his ballet training at the Escuela Provincial de Ballet de la Habana. Noel continued his training at La Escuela Nacional de Arte de la Habana Cubanacan, where he also studied painting and drawing. He danced in Cuba with the renowned Alonso's and toured with the company throughout the World. After a nine-month engagement in Costa Rica with the Compa�?ia Nacional de Danza, Noel arrived in the U.S. in December 1981. In the US he continued his ballet career with Ballet Concerto, Dance Miami, Boston Ballet and New England Dinosaur Dance Company. While dancing he was also given the opportunity to design sets and costumes for the companies he danced with. In 1986, Noel retired from dancing and decided to dedicate his time to his lifelong love of painting.
